Hello! It’s been a while since our last student profile. For those who don’t know what this is all about, this is our way of being thankful for having the job and students that we have. It’s fun!
Meet Jo & Jim. When I thought about what to write about them, a montage of soldiers training in the rain to join an elite military group came to mind. You know, the ones where one of the soldiers is really good, but has a rebellious sprit, and the drill sergeant screams at them to do 100 pushups? They fight and go back and forth, but by the end of the movie, the drill sergeant and the rebellious soldier have a mutual respect for each other, and the drill sergeant is proud to put the pin on the soldier’s uniform.
Well, we haven’t quite gotten to that part yet, and instead of push-ups and sit-ups, I give them sentences to write and verbs to conjugate. We’ve had our spats, but we’re passed the fights and the frustration and I think we are on a good path now! They are two fine, honorable soldiers that haven’t given up yet, and I’m proud of their progress!
