Life in Boise

Boise is the West’s best-kept secret. Hidden from the usual tourist crowds, Boise maintains the famous small-town charm of the true American West. Consistently rated one of the safest cities in the country, as well as one of the fastest growing cities, there is no better place to learn English than in Boise. Sitting at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Boise offers tremendous outdoor activities year-round while also providing a clean, friendly, and fun city to enjoy!

Where is Boise? Discovering CR Languages’ Charming Home!

In this blog, we will delve into what makes Boise a great place to live, work, study, and raise a family.

Housing Options

International students should have housing secured before they apply for a student visa. CR Languages offers two different options for international student housing.

Housing Assistance

CR Languages staff will work with you to identify three potential housing options that meet your preferences. These options will be presented to you, and we will facilitate the first communication with the housing option of your choice. After that, it is the student’s responsibility to work directly with that person to make all final arrangements and payments. These housing options could include a furnished room in a house, an apartment, a hotel, or other options.

Homestays

CR Languages has partnered with one of the best homestay organizers in the US, StudentRoomStay. You’ll work directly with them to set up your profile, select a host family, coordinate meals, and make all payments.

Information on Student Visa

To obtain a student visa to study in the US, students must be enrolled in a SEVIS-approved school and program.

Once your enrollment in the program is confirmed, you will be issued a form called an I-20. With this form, you can apply for a student visa to the United States. Having an I-20 and being enrolled does not guarantee that you will get the visa.

One important component of the application is to demonstrate that you have the financial ability to pay for the course, books, housing, and living expenses during your planned stay in the US. You’ll need to upload documentation to prove that as part of our application.

SEVP Approval Status:
CR Languages is currently waiting for final approval from SEVP to issue the form I-20. We hope to be approved by the spring of 2025, but it may take longer. Please enter your email address to be notified when we are approved.
