We’re very excited to be offering a Spanish and French Summer Camp for children.

As you probably know, children have a tremendous affinity for learning languages. Drawing on our experience and expertise in language education, we’ve created a program that will challenge children of all levels, while also teaching them valuable soft-skills associated with language learning, including confidence, respect, as well as a stronger sense of community and identity. Not to mention they’ll also be learning another language, something that will benefit them for their entire life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will the kids learn in class?

In class, children will cover a broad range of topics including reading, writing, and speaking. Children will also do activities like singing, dancing, drawing, and games.

Another important component of the curriculum is culture. Children will learn all about the different countries and cultures associated with the language.

How will the groups be divided?

Class sizes are approximately 10 students and are grouped by individual affinities more than by ages. If a particular group of students likes stories more than dancing and singing, we will do our best to group them together so that they are naturally engaged in the materials.

What if my child already speaks some Spanish or French?

Students of all levels will be grouped together, but more advanced students will still be challenged by the instructor. The small group sizes will allow the instructor to monitor and challenge students in ways unique to their needs.

Having a mixed group will also allow more advanced students to understand and retain more of the language by becoming teachers themselves, helping their fellow students.

A Letter From the Director

We’re so glad you’re considering signing your child up for classes! Learning another language has a huge number of benefits for both adults and children, and opens a new world of opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

Each class will contain a mixture of traditional and non-traditional learning activities. While the kids will practice reading, writing, and speaking every day, there will also be dancing, singing, and artwork. The reason for this is two-fold. First, we want to make sure the kids still get to be kids and can enjoy themselves while they learn. Second, language acquisition is more successful when it is integrated into activities that allow children to interact with other people and use different parts of their brains.

Classes will be multi-age and multi-level. This helps to foster a strong sense of community while also facilitating an environment where kids can engage in collaborative exchanges and active learning. Students who are complete beginners will have the opportunity to emulate their more advanced peers, and the immersion setting will encourage them to start speaking on day one. The instructor, who is a native speaker, will challenge intermediate and advanced students, too, enabling them to become as proficient in the language as possible. As students advance, they will get to act as role models and peer mentors for other students who are not as far along as they are, activities that will build both social responsibility and independence.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by telephone or email if you have any questions – we recognize that enrolling for the class is a big commitment for your entire family and want to help make the process as easy for you as possible.

Thank you,
